BOONE, N.C. – App State Football's Nov. 27 regular-season finale against Georgia Southern has been tabbed as the program's annual Black Saturday game.
The Mountaineers and Eagles are scheduled to meet on the last Saturday of the regular season (aka, Rivalry Weekend) for the first time in the storied history of a series that dates back to 1932. The convergence of one of the nation's best rivalries and the Mountaineers' Black Saturday tradition should produce an electric atmosphere at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Last year, App State used a late Jalen Virgil 100-yard kickoff return and 70-yard Nate Noel run to come from behind and win 34-26 in Statesboro after the game was moved from Oct.
