MOBILE, Ala. -- Appalachian State infielder Haley Stewart was selected No. 30 overall in the American Softball Association Draft on Wednesday, June 5. The Belmont, N.C. native was drafted by Performance Lab.
"It's honestly a dream come true. I'm just enjoying the moment right now," Stewart said. "It's a huge honor and I'm excited to continue to represent App State softball."
The draft kicked off the second season of ASBA, a professional women's softball organization. The league is comprised of four teams that compete in a 30-game season from June 14 through July 31, 2019.
