BOONE, N.C. -- Five players reached double figures as Appalachian men's basketball posted an 83-56 win over Ferrum, giving head coach Dustin Kerns his first victory at the helm of the Mountaineers on Thursday evening.
Justin Forrest paced App State (1-1) with a game-high 17 points on 6-of-10 (60.0 percent) shooting, six rebounds and a game-high three steals. Isaac Johnson had a near double-double with 15 points on 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) shooting and nine rebounds.
