BOONE, N.C. –– In its season finale, Appalachian State University volleyball dropped its 13th five-set match of the season in a 3-2 (21-25, 27-25, 28-26, 16-25, 11-15) to Troy on Sunday afternoon inside the Holmes Center.
The Mountaineers (4-25, 2-14) were led offensively by Jenna Talbert who tallied 14 kills. Melissa McMath also finished in double-figures with 11.
Ashlyn Brown ran the offense with 45 assists on the afternoon. Defensively, Kati Stammen tallied a team-high 18 digs.
Appalachian fell behind midway through the opening set 17-12 after a 7-2 run from the Trojans (10-23, 4-12 Sun Belt) opened up some breathing room for Troy.
