App State suffered a tight 2-1 setback at Longwood in overtime on Saturday. The Mountaineers outshot the Lancers 13-11, but a golden goal off a penalty corner midway through the first overtime period propelled Longwood to the one-score victory. Junior Veerle Van Heertum recorded her fifth goal of the season in the second period to give Appalachian a 1-0 lead.
