BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State inside linebacker Jordan Fehr has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in the last four games.
Leading a defense that didn't allow any offensive points in a 23-7 win at Coastal Carolina, Fehr's team-high eight tackles included a career-high 3.0 sacks and the primary stop on a fourth-quarter safety that gave the Mountaineers a two-possession lead. Fehr just missed a fourth sack with a quarterback hurry on the play right after his third sack.
That effort helped App State limit Coastal Carolina to 72 rushing yards (179.
