BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State junior running back Darrynton Evans has added appearances on the watch lists for the Paul Hornung Award and the Wuerffel Trophy to a series of preseason accolades.
Presented by Texas Roadhouse, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile FBS player in the country, and the Wuerffel Trophy is awarded to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement. Earlier this month, Evans was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award that goes to America's college player of the year and the Doak Walker Award that is presented to the nation's best college running back.
