MORGANTON, N.C. – Appalachian State junior golfer Joliana Elias finished 2-over-par to pace the Mountaineers at the two-round Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, which ended Monday.
Elias carded a 74 in Sunday's first round and an even-par 72 on Monday to finish at 2-over 146, good for sixth place out of the 90-person field. She led App State to an eighth-place team finish with a two-day score of 611 (313-298). After a difficult first round, the Mountaineers' 298 team score on Monday was tied for lowest of the day with Troy and USC Upstate.
Troy captured the team title with a 19-over 595 (297-298), while Elon's Aurelia Hamm was the low medalist after firing rounds of 73 and 67 to finish 4-under.
