BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University baseball alum Jaylin Davis has been called up to the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Class A) after spending just 12 games with the Elizabethton Twins, the Minnesota Twins announced Tuesday.
The outfielder had seven home runs in those 12 games and was recently named the Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Week after he crossed the plate eight times, hit five home runs for nine RBI and stole a base in his first seven games. His best game for Rookie-level Elizabethton came against Pulaski on July 1 when the Greensboro-native blasted two over the fence for a career-high five RBI on his 22nd birthday.
