BOONE, N.C. – Caleb Cross was sensational on the mound for the Mountaineers Friday night. The redshirt senior tossed seven scoreless, and hitless, innings against Old Dominion to lead the Mountaineers to a 9-4 victory.
The redshirt senior finished his night with a strikeout to end the seventh inning – capping a career-high in innings pitched – retiring the final 13 batters he faced in the ballgame. Cross yielded just three baserunners in the contest.
"I just trusted the process, trusted the pitch plan and went straight at them," said Cross.
