BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State cross country and track & field alumna Tristin Van Ord qualified for the 2020 United States Olympic Trials in the marathon over the weekend.
Running in her first marathon for the Raleigh Distance Project/Oiselle, Van Ord placed 15th in the female division at the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minn. in 2:40.00 to qualify for the United States Olympic Trials, which will be held on Feb. 29, 2020 in Atlanta, Ga.
"I couldn't be happier for Tristin," said cross country head coach and distance coach Michael Curcio. "She's a great young person who is really committed to getting to the next level.
