Now, Appalachian State alum Colin Schmid has his first pro victory.
Schmid allowed three hits and three runs in six innings Tuesday as he helped the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League post a 9-3 road win against the Pulaski Yankees.
Schmid, who finished with three strikeouts, allowed just one run over his final five innings of work. He retired the last seven batters he faced, recording back-to-back strikeouts to open the sixth inning.
