DECATUR, Ga. — Georgia State’s Wayne Wages took a perfect game into the ninth inning of the Panthers’ 10-0 win over Appalachian State University baseball on Friday evening at the GSU Baseball Complex.
Freshman pinch-hitter Jason Curtis broke up the perfect game with a clean base hit up the middle with one out in the ninth. Wages retired Appalachian State’s final two batters to finish off the one-hit, complete-game gem.
Before Curtis ended perfect-game bid in the ninth, the closest that Appalachian State (10-28, 5-14 Sun Belt) came to getting a hit off Wages was in the second inning.
