Baseball Heads to Rocky Top for Mid-Week Affair

Coming off a heart-breaking Sun Belt Conference series sweep at Troy, Appalachian State University baseball looks to get back on track on Tuesday evening with a non-conference matchup at Tennessee. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.

Appalachian State (8-24) arrives at Tennessee in the midst of a four-game losing streak, which includes three losses by a total of just four runs at Troy this past weekend. After losing Friday’s opener, 9-7, the Mountaineers suffered back-to-back walkoff defeats to close out the series. Making the consecutive walkoff losses even more painful was the fact that the Mountaineers took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning of Saturday’s 4-3 defeat and a 2-0 advantage into the bottom of the ninth in Sunday’s 3-2, 12-inning setback.
