BLUFFTON, S.C. – Appalachian State fired the third-lowest round of the day (323) to climb three spots and finish ninth at the 2017 Lowcountry Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday on the South Course at Moss Creek Golf Club.
The Mountaineers (+78) finished two shots back of Quinnipiac in ninth. High Point won the overall event (+62), three shots ahead of Gardner-Webb (+65). Seton Hall (+68) took third. Presbyterian’s Celia Mansour (+5) won the event by five strokes and was the only player to finish in single digits over par.
“Still not the performance we are capable of, but we battled better today,” App State head coach Heather Brown said.
