JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Appalachian State University women’s track and field completed day one of competition on Friday night in Johnson City, Tenn. at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational. Tristin Van Ord won the 5,000 meters, two Mountaineers qualified for the finals and App State grabbed 16 top-ten finishes.
In the short sprints, speedsters Darlene Girardeau and LaBria King both qualified for the 60-meter finals and the 200-meter finals, which will be held tomorrow. Girardeau sprinted past the finish line in second in the 60m with a time of 7.
