MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Appalachian State University men’s tennis (6-4) had its four-match winning streak snapped in a tight 5-2 setback to a tough College of Charleston (6-3) squad Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point.
The score didn’t reflect how close the match actually was, as four of six singles matches went to three sets while the doubles matches where just as tight.
CofC captured two of three doubles matches to go into the singles portion with a 1-0 lead. The No. 2 tandem of Scott Webster and Jan-Willem Kleynhans kept their hot-streak going with a fifth-straight victory in doubles play over Charlie Chriskey and Josh Record, 6-1.
