BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University head women’s soccer coach Sarah Strickland officially announced the addition of 12 student-athletes for the 2017 season on Monday.
The class features three forwards, two defenders, five midfielders and two goalkeepers. Of the 12 newcomers, 10 of them hail from the Mountaineers’ home state of North Carolina while the other two come from Georgia and from New Jersey.
“I’m really excited about adding this group to our current core,” Strickland said. “For the first time ever, we will have some freshman enrolled in Summer Session 2, which will also help with their transition into college.
