App State Uses Second-Half Surge to Rally Past LU

BOONE, N.C. - After facing a first-half deficit, Appalachian State University women's basketball (2-1) used a dominating second-half performance to pull out a 66-57 win at Liberty Friday evening at the Vines Center.

App State outscored LU (0-3), 43-25, in the second half while shooting 48.3 percent (22.2 percent in the first half). While trailing Liberty 41-36 late in the third quarter, the Apps used a 10-1 run that stretched in the fourth period to take a commanding 45-42 lead and never looked back.

Q Murray and Mikaya Wilson had a hand in five of the final seven points in the third before Joi Jones hit a jumper at the buzzer to tie the game at the end of the fourth.
