JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Appalachian State (21-8) defeated East Tennessee State (16-12-2) for the second time this season. This time at ETSU, the Mountaineers put up five runs on seven hits and two errors in the 5-0 shutout of the Buccaneers.
The two previously faced off a week ago in Boone, NC where the Mountaineers had 10 hits with two home runs in the 7-1 victory.
With the win, the Mountaineers continue the best start to a season in program history. Appalachian has a 12-2 record in the last 14 games alongside an 11-4 record on the road.
