CONWAY, S.C. – The Mountaineers' suffocating defense in Conway, S.C., led to a 70-45 rout over the Chanticleers on Thursday, marking the Mountaineers' fifth-largest margin of victory over a Sun Belt foe since joining the league in 2014. Coach Kerns' defense held the Chanticleers to just 45 points on Thursday, which is the second-fewest points the Mountaineers have given up against a current Sun Belt foe.
App State (12-4, 3-1 SBC) jumped all over Coastal Carolina (4-11, 1-3 SBC) on the road Thursday, leading for 37 minutes and jumping in front by as much as 28 points in the game.
