TROY, Ala. - Appalachian State (29-16, 12-8 SBC) defeated Troy (34-14, 16-6 SBC) in the series finale on Saturday. The Mountaineers took down the Trojans 2-1 in game three after dropping the first two games in a doubleheader on Friday.
With the win, the Mountaineers match the 2006 season win total with 29. It is the most wins since 2013 and second most in program history for App State.
The game remained scoreless through three and a half innings until Troy scored first in the bottom of the fourth. A Trojan walk and double to right center brought home the first run of the game and gave Troy the mid-game lead.
