BOONE, N.C. - As the saying in college football goes when running the football “three yards and a cloud of dust”, and Appalachian State University football took that to a whole new level with the running backs unit in 2015.
The combination of skill, speed and power were on full display en route to the Mountaineers having the sixth-best rushing attack in the nation averaging 271.5 yards per game. Appalachian ran for at least 200 yards in 11 of 13 contests while reaching the 300-yard rushing mark in six games, including the final two games of the season at South Alabama and against Ohio.
