BOONE, N.C. — App State led the Sun Belt Conference and set a school record with five teams receiving Public Recognition Awards from the NCAA on Tuesday.
The men's basketball, men's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer and women's tennis programs at App State each received a Public Recognition Award for posting multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of their respective sports. The multiyear APRs are based on scores from the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.
In the 15 years of the Public Recognition Awards program, App State's previous high was four recipients, most recently in 2019.
