BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University football announced on Friday morning that it has added three home games to its future schedules. The Mountaineers will host Gardner-Webb on Sept. 22, 2018 and East Tennessee State on Aug. 31, 2019 and Aug. 31, 2024. All three games will be played at Appalachian State’s Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Appalachian State has a nearly century-old history with both NCAA Division I FCS opponents.
The Mountaineers’ series with Gardner-Webb dates back to 1929 and App State leads the all-time series, 7-0. In their most recent matchup, the Mountaineers beat the Runnin’ Bulldogs, 45-7, on Oct.
