Wake Forest (9-7, 0-6 ACC) came out of the gates fast with two quick goals in under three minutes to take the early 2-0 lead.
After falling quickly in the first several minutes, App State’s defensive front began to pick it up a notch with many blocked shots and broke up multiple offensive plays created by the Deacs. The App’s (1-14) started to hold off the Demon Deacons offensively until Nicola Pluta found an opening for Madi Julius to score Wake’s third goal in the 17th minute.
