ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Appalachian State University men's track and field completed Day 1 of the 2017 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas. After competing in three events, the men are tied for ninth with three team points.
Jackson Powers started the day off in the men's decathlon collecting a first-day total of 2,677 points for 11th place heading into day two of the multi-event showdown. In the early afternoon, Peter Kenn hurled the hammer 155-0 (47.27m) to place 15th.
