BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University baseball officially announced its class of 10 newcomers on Monday, the first under new head coach Kermit Smith. The class of 10 includes two student-athletes who will transfer to Appalachian State and eight who signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period this fall.
The class features one catcher, two infielders, two outfielders and five pitchers. Of the 10 student-athletes, seven hail from Appalachian State's backyard of North Carolina with the rest coming from Georgia, Virginia and Florida.
“This was an absolute team effort,” Smith said.
