BOONE, N.C. — Extending its longest winning streak in eight years, App State Baseball wrapped up a two-game home series against Siena with a 9-8 victory on Wednesday.
A large Field Trip Day crowd of students created a festive atmosphere and contributed to a late-morning crowd of 873 fans at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium as the Mountaineers officially improved to 10-6 — they are leading 6-2 with the bases loaded in the ninth inning of a suspended game that will resume Tuesday before a full game is played against North Carolina A&T in Boone.
