BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State and WKBC Radio (Wilkesboro, NC) have announced a three-year partnership for WKBC to be the flagship station of Appalachian Sports Network, Director of Athletics Doug Gillin announced on Wednesday.
WKBC is in its 18th year with Appalachian Sports Network this season and has been a part of the network since the station went on air. WKBC-97.3 FM is a 100,000-watt station with the signal originating in North Wilkesboro, reaching Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and the Tri-Cities in addition to Boone, Hickory, Lenoir, and Statesville.
“The Appalachian Sports Network has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with WKBC,” Gillin said.
