GREENSBORO, N.C. – Appalachian State University softball played Valparaiso on Sunday morning and crushed the UMBC Retrievers 9-2 in an afternoon rematch on the final day of the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. Due to the fact that Appalachian and Valparaiso only completed four innings at dead time, the ballgame was voided.
App State improved to an overall .500 record (4-4) after claiming a victory against UMBC. In the rematch, seven Mountaineers crashed out hits and five dished out RBI with Haley Stewart registering two on a double.
