MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Sophomore Joliana Elias’ (Jamestown, N.C.) fired a career-low 72 and is tied for fourth to lift Appalachian State to fifth place in the 10-team field through two rounds at the 2017 Sun Belt Women’s Golf Championships. App fired a team-302 to climb one spot in Tuesday’s second round on the Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
Elias had three birdies including chipping in on the par-3 18th to go with five bogeys and move into position for a top five finish. She is 1-over for the week and trails Troy’s Fatima Cano (-4) by five for the overall lead.
