Appalachian State University men's golf officially teed off the 2019 fall campaign this afternoon under new leadership at the two-day Sam Hall Intercollegiate tournament, hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi.
Originally, the Mountaineers were slated to kick off 2019 in the Palmetto state and compete in the Battle at Briar's Creek, a tournament hosted by the College of Charleston, but the recent impacts of Hurricane Dorian along the Carolina coast prompted a cancellation.
A total of five fall tournaments, each respectively hosted by Southern Mississippi, Villanova, Presbyterian, Elon and Charleston Southern, lay ahead for App State as the squad eyes to turn their relentless effort into a new era of meaningful success.
