A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a woman in east Pasadena on Friday morning after an altercation in which she fired at the deputy, authorities said.
The woman's wounds were not considered life-threatening and she was taken to a hospital, said Sgt. Steven Ruiz of the sheriff’s Temple Station. She was not identified.
The woman's husband called authorities about 10:44 a.m. to report she had medical issues and was armed with a gun, Sheriff's Lt. Holly Francisco said.
When deputies went to the home in the 3300 block of Yorkshire Road in unincorporated east Pasadena, they found the woman holding a gun and standing outside.
