A West Covina police officer shot and killed a knife-wielding man Friday night after the man’s brother was found with stab wounds, authorities said.
Officers received a report about 8 p.m. that a man had been stabbed in an apartment in the 4100 block of Sentous Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is assisting with the investigation. The victim told authorities that he was stabbed when he tried to stop his brother from leaving the apartment armed with a knife.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, authorities said.
A police officer spotted the suspect walking on the sidewalk in the 700 block of Nogales Street, carrying a large kitchen knife, authorities said.
