U.S. stocks rose sharply in early trading again Wednesday, with the Dow Jones industrial average jumping more than 250 points, just as the market did early Tuesday.

Prices dropped back from their initial highs again Wednesday. The blue-chip Dow Jones industrials, after surging as much as 443 points after the opening bell, were up 259.39 points, or 1.7%.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index and the tech-laden Nasdaq composite index both were up 1.
