The CONCACAF playoff game between the U.S. and Mexico for a spot in the Confederations Cup will be held Oct. 9 at the Rose Bowl, the confederation announced Sunday.
CONCACAF will release a portion of tickets to each confederation for sale to official supporter groups. The public sale will begin in September.
The two countries won the last two CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments, the U.S. in 2013 and Mexico on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Jamaica. As a result, the teams must meet in a one-game playoff to determine who will represent the region in the 2017 Confederations Cup, a pre-World Cup tuneup in Russia.
