The Los Angeles County sheriff's bomb squad was dispatched Saturday to investigate a suspicious package found inside a Bank of America building at the Lakewood Center Mall.
The package was found on the ground by one of the teller's windows and was reported to police shortly after 12 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.
Customers and employees were evacuated from the bank near the intersection of Lakewood and Del Amo boulevards.
The area around the bank has been cordoned off and the bomb squad was dispatched to the scene to investigate, sheriff's officials said.
