USC Coach Steve Sarkisian said Friday that he backed the school’s action regarding Bryce Dixon, who the university said would be allowed to re-enroll as a student but not participate in football.
“We support the university’s decision,” Sarkisian said after the team’s morning practice. “We want what’s in the best interest of the student-athlete, as well.”
Dixon, who caught four touchdown passes as a freshman last season, was expelled in May after a USC investigation of alleged sexual misconduct.
He filed a petition in court on Wednesday requesting a stay of the expulsion. Among his claims was that USC’s sexual-misconduct investigation process is “utterly lacking” in due process.
