Owner of Cadillac Hotel in Venice charged in homeless man's slaying

The owner of the Cadillac Hotel in Venice Beach was charged Tuesday with killing a homeless man near his property, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said.

Sris Sinnathamby, 54, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon for allegedly shooting Jascent Warren to death Sunday morning near Rose Avenue and Ocean Front Walk, not far from his hotel on Dudley Avenue.

According to jail records he is being held in lieu of $5-million bail. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

On Sunday, police responded about 2 a.m. on reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Ocean Front Walk, where officers were directed by witnesses to two men who had been shot.
