Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks were 19th in scoring this year averaging 2.82 goals per game, and were only able to score four goals in their four games against the Sharks.
Overall, their roster lacked speed, which was exposed by the Sharks.
With only adding Jason Chimera and Chris Kelly at the trade deadline, GM Bob Murray showed he wasn’t overly confident that they could make a long playoff run.
They have to look at moving out some under-performing veterans and get younger and faster. Is Murray able to do this with the contracts of Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler on the books?
