Metro bus passenger wounded in South L.A. shooting

A Monday afternoon shooting aboard a Metro bus in South Los Angeles left one man injured, authorities said.

Gunfire erupted on the Metro 207 bus, which connects Hawthorne to Los Feliz, as it was passing near 60th Street and Western Avenue shortly after 12 p.m., said Ramon Montenegro, a spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's Transit Services Bureau.

A man was struck in the back by a gunshot and taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Montenegro said.
