Man shot and killed in east Pasadena believed to be former 'Deadliest Catch' producer

A 24-year-old man shot and killed early Friday in an east Pasadena neighborhood was believed to a producer on the Discovery Channel reality TV show “Deadliest Catch.”

Deputies responded to a report of a possible gunshot victim about 2:19 a.m. in the 3600 block of Yorkshire Road, according to Lt. Holly Francisco of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived, they found Joseph McMahon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his torso, lying on the street not far from his parent's home, she said. He died at the scene.

KCBS-TV reported that family friends identified the Pasadena resident as a former associate producer on the show.
