Rep. Loretta Sanchez reported $1.1 million in the bank for her U.S. Senate campaign at the end of June, well behind the $2.9 million that her chief rival Kamala Harris says she has collected for the race, according to a Sanchez report released Wednesday.
Sanchez, an Orange County Democrat, received $618,421 in campaign contributions in the three months that ended June 30, according to the report. Her Senate campaign also received $516,114 that she had initially raised to run for reelection to the House.
Harris, a fellow Democrat who is California's attorney general, reported $2.9 million in cash on hand at the end of the reporting period, but also more than $240,000 in unpaid bills.
