Los Angeles police shot a knife-wielding man covered in blood Monday as he approached officers responding to an emergency call of a possible assault at a Sylmar home, an LAPD spokeswoman said.
After the shooting, officers entered the home and discovered a man with multiple stab wounds, Officer Liliana Preciado said. He died inside the home, she said.
Homicide detectives responded to the home to investigate the man’s death as well as the police shooting.
The shooting occurred after police arrived at the home in the 13000 block of Gavina Avenue about 10:40 a.
