Iran and six world powers approached final decisions Sunday on a comprehensive agreement to control Tehran’s disputed nuclear program, with a deal increasingly in sight, diplomats said.
After 16 days of bargaining, foreign ministers were expected to meet Sunday evening. They hope to resolve the political issues that remain and to consider the precise language of the agreement and of the United Nations Security Council resolution that will lay out its terms, diplomats said.
U.S., Iranian and European officials cautioned that completion of the deal was unlikely on Sunday because of the work involved in crafting a voluminous document.
