The Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs is offering a two-night stay that's meant to school you in the city's Midcentury Modern architecture.
It's a fitting time to take a look.
L.A. Times writer Christopher Hawthorne says, in an appreciation of Palm Springs architect Donald Wexler, who died June 26 at the age of 89: "Palm Springs and California modernism came of age together right after the war. Its leading architects had a chance not just to build modern houses for new subdivisions but to give Palm Springs a public face, a civic personality."
The Modern Immersion two-night stay at the Saguaro is being offered two weekends.
