The parents of C.J. Pollard can breathe a sigh of relief.
Pollard, a 2016 cornerback at Gardena Serra High, made his commitment to USC public on Thursday at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore.
“It was running through my blood,” Pollard said.
Pollard’s father, Marvin, was a defensive back at USC from 1998-1991 and his mother, Pam, also graduated from the school.
Neither parent knew their son was a lock to pick the Trojans. Pollard said they never pushed him to USC.
Pollard, 6 feet 3 and 183 pounds, told USC Coach Steve Sarkisian three months ago about his decision, but wanted the opportunity to announce his commitment on television during The Opening.
