Former Trojans coach Pete Carroll run over by field judge in exhibition game

Pete Carroll got a little too close to the action Friday during the Seahawks' exhibition opener against the Denver Broncos at CenturyLink Field.

The former USC coach stepped onto the sideline to watch Tyler Lockett sprint by on his way to a 103-yard kickoff return for a Seahawks touchdown.

But Carroll didn’t see Lockett cross the goal line because he was run over by field judge Eugene Hall, who was following the play.

Carroll drew a penalty on the play for obstructing the sideline.

The Broncos defeated the Seahawks, 22-20.

Carroll and the Seahawks begin their quest for a third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl on Sept.
