Pronger was acquired by Anaheim on July 3, 2006 from Edmonton in exchange for Joffrey Lupul, Ladislav Smid, a first-round selection in the 2007 NHL Draft, a conditional first-round selection and second-round selection in the 2008 NHL Draft. While with Anaheim, Pronger helped the Ducks to the 2007 Stanley Cup title, the first ever for a California team and the first won by a West Coast club since 1925. During that run, Pronger tied for second among NHL defensemen in playoff scoring with 3-11=14 points in 19 games. He also represented Anaheim at the 2008 All-Star Game in Atlanta.
